TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — January 15, 2026 — Local Bank partnered with Attollo Homes realtor Zaraph Greene to host a free Renters-to-Owners Seminar aimed at helping Tuscaloosa residents turn the dream of homeownership into a long-term wealth-building reality. The seminar was hosted by and held at Local Bank’s Corporate Office, located at 1857 Common North Drive.
The educational seminar was co-hosted by Sommer Lunceford, Mortgage Loan Officer at Local Bank, and Zaraph Greene of Attollo Homes. Together, they designed the program to address not only the homebuying process, but the broader financial foundation needed for sustainable homeownership.
“As a mortgage loan officer, I see firsthand how many renters are closer to homeownership than they realize—they just need the right guidance,” said Sommer Lunceford. “This seminar was about education, empowerment, and giving people a clear path forward, whether they’re ready to buy now or planning for the future.”
Greene, who works closely with renters across Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, said the idea for the seminar came from seeing recurring financial barriers that prevent many families from building wealth through homeownership.
“This wasn’t just about buying a home—it was about finances as a whole and actually developing wealth,” Greene said. “We wanted people to understand budgeting, planning, insurance, investments, retirement strategies, and even estate planning, so they can build something lasting.”
The seminar was open to the public and was not limited to current Attollo Homes tenants. Topics covered included budgeting, credit readiness, mortgage basics, financial planning, insurance, investments, retirement strategies, and estate planning. Attendees also had the opportunity to schedule one-on-one consultations for personalized guidance.
“This partnership reflects Local Bank’s mission to invest in the financial well-being of our community,” said Scott Christoff, CEO of Local Bank. “By hosting this seminar at our corporate office and bringing together trusted professionals, we were able to create access to knowledge that can truly change lives.”
The inaugural seminar took place Thursday evening. The program is planned to continue twice monthly throughout the year, with flexibility to adapt scheduling and format based on participant needs. For more information, contact [email protected].
