About the Job: 

Job purpose & Scope

The Private Banker is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, offering tailored financial solutions to meet their unique needs and goals. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with affluent clients, providing personalized banking, lending, and wealth management services to support long-term financial objectives. The Private Banker will work closely with a team of financial professionals to deliver an exceptional client experience and maximize client satisfaction and loyalty.

Essential Job Functions: 

·Client Relationship Management:

  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with high-net-worth clients by providing a high level of personalized service.
  • Proactively assess client needs, financial goals, and preferences to recommend appropriate banking, lending, and wealth management products.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing their accounts, addressing inquiries, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure seamless service.

Financial Planning and Advisory Services:

  • Offer tailored financial advice, including investment strategies, retirement planning, estate planning, and tax-efficient wealth strategies.
  • Collaborate with wealth management and investment teams to provide clients with customized portfolio management solutions.
  • Educate clients on the full suite of private banking services and advise on optimal financial products to support their goals.

Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships through cross-selling and up-selling of banking products and services, including deposits and loans.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the portfolio by acquiring new clients through referrals, networking, and targeted outreach.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, economic factors, and the competitive landscape to inform business development efforts.

 Risk and Compliance Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, bank policies, and internal controls for all client interactions and transactions.
  • Conduct regular reviews of client accounts to identify potential risks and address them proactively.
  • Monitor the performance of clients’ portfolios and provide guidance or adjustments to align with changing financial conditions or objectives.

 Client Education and Support:

  • Provide clients with regular market updates, financial insights, and education on financial topics relevant to their portfolios.
  • Organize client events, presentations, and educational seminars to build community and enhance the client experience.
  • Ensure clients feel valued and supported through personalized communication and proactive problem-solving.

Preferred qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience private banking, wealth management, or related client advisory roles within a financial institution 
  • In-depth knowledge of financial planning, investment products, and banking services relevant to high-net-worth clients.
  • Proficiency with CRM software, financial analysis tools, and MS Office applications.
  • Established network within the high-net-worth community and strong referral base.
